CHOOSING THE CORRECT COLOUR

June 12, 2024

Choosing the correct colour is one of the most important factors when creating natural brow tattooing. When I am colour-matching pigment for my clients, the first thing to be considered is the true colour of their brow hair. The colour chosen for their brows will be based on their natural brow hair, rather than their head hair or brow tint etc. Using a colour that is too dark for their skin tone and brow hair may result in brows healing ashy and looking obviously “tattooed”.

Each pigment will filter through the epidermis differently. Pigments will either look very rich in colour when healed or very soft. For example, a client with soft fine blonde hair will need a pigment that filters through very softly when healed whereas a client with dark/denser hair will need a pigment that is richer in colour. By correctly matching the pigment to my client’s brow hair, the healed microblading blends seamlessly with their natural brows to create a very natural result.

Microblading is not a replacement for makeup, and I always advise clients that any significant changes made to the colour of their brows will require long term upkeep and will not look natural when healed. My aim is always to give my clients their natural brows but better. I have attached some images of healed micoblading below, showing how naturally my microblading is designed to heal.
